Susanna has been practicing various forms of meditation for the last fifteen years. As an avid fan of Kouk Sun Do (ancient Korean-style of breathing and meditation method), she tries to harness the power Tan-Tien(lower abdomen) for spiritual enlightenment. In her spare time, she enjoys writing, giving lectures, ballroom dancing and playing classical piano.

Personal stories that led Susanna to Oriental Healing

“I had been suffering from chronic seasonal allergies for a long time.  Allergy shots, steroid-based medicines and antihistamines proved to be little use for me.  Then I tried acupuncture, and for the first time in many years, I was able to smell spring flowers.  Most of my allergy symptoms abated dramatically. It is one of the many reasons that led me to study Oriental medicine and acupuncture.”

More importantly, she says the following:

“For a long time, I wanted to know–what it is all about, such as what is life, what is the universe, why I am here, where do I go after I die, what is the meaning of everything.  This quest started when I was very young, and became more pronounced as I got older.  Meditation, reading about religion, philosophy, spirituality, and practicing deep breathing through lower abdomen, all helped, but I still was hungry.

Then, I started studying Taoism in earnest, and became totally fascinated by elegant yet powerful explanation of all things.  Tao, the ultimate and unmovable truth underlying all material and mental universes,  interplay of Yin and Yang, subtle energy known as Qi that holds everything everywhere, harmony and balance in a continuously changing the time-space dimension, I was really excited to find out at least there are some ways to understand and answer some of my questions.   The more I studied about Taoism, I realized that the most useful aspect of this philosophy was culminated in the medicine/health area.

Naturally, it led me to study Oriental medicine.  Ever since, I have been a happy camper gladly serving all patients and experiencing every facets of restoring Balance and Harmony together with them.”
